Among the many islands of the Mediterranean, Ibiza stands out. For its beaches, of course, but above all for its atmosphere. While it has retained the bohemian feel of the mid-60s hippies, over the last 40 years it has become a nightlife hotspot. A real landmark for clubbers from all over the world and a must for any DJ. So, if you’re mooring in one of the ports on this Balearic island, let’s see which club is right for you.
Superclubs
Le Privilege
Formerly the largest nightclub in the world, it is now the island’s biggest club. Its main room is almost as big as all the other clubs on Ibiza put together. Its international reputation is due to the fact that it was the first club in the world to install a swimming pool in the middle of the dancefloor. What’s more, its Vista Club room offers an unforgettable sunrise to the house and techno sounds that will set the pace for your night.
Le Pacha
Its logo, two little red cherries, is as famous as the DJ who made this club famous: David Guetta and his F*** Me, I’m Famous nights. A brand name in its own right, established all over the world, Pacha is one of Ibiza’s oldest clubs and the first Superclub. Its different rooms offer the most diverse programme on the island, while its rooftop lets you sip a cocktail under the full moon.
Amnesia
Already voted the best club in the world, L’Amnesia represents the very essence of Ibiza nightlife. The sound is eclectic and each night will have its own style. The VIP lounge, a favourite haunt of the stars under a glass roof, is flooded with natural light at first light.
Hï Ibiza
Here, too, you are entering one of the best nightclubs in the world. This is one of the most exclusive clubs on the island, so watch your dress code. A temple to techno, it boasts a host of modern facilities. ATM, vegetation in the open-air areas and private tents as VIP areas. The two main rooms each have their own daily set-up and the light shows are the most spectacular on the island. As an added bonus, there’s even a DJ in the unisex toilets.
Eden Ibiza
The smallest of the Superclubs, Eden is worth a visit for the quality of its sound equipment. Renovated in 2013, it offers the best sound on the island and has two VIP lounges serving some of the best cocktails in Ibiza.
DC-10
More underground than the other Superclubs, DC-10 is renowned for being the club that kicks off and closes the season. It set the trend for daytime parties with its Circoloco afterwork. With its location at the end of the airport runway, the passage of planes overhead always generates general hysteria.
Beach clubs
Ushuaïa
Ushuaïa may be one of the Superclubs, but its opening hours set it apart: it opens at 5pm and closes at midnight. It’s an experience not to be missed. Sip your cocktail by the pool and watch the sun go down with Calvin Harris behind the decks. Before that, you can climb up to the rooftop of the Ushuaïa Ibiza tower hotel to enjoy one of the best views of the island.
Ocean beach club
Located on the beach in the village of San Antonio, the O Beach is one of the few beach clubs in this part of Ibiza. From the VIP lounge on the Roof Garden, you can watch one of the most beautiful sunsets of your life. Opened in 2012, it has breathed new life into this part of the island, notably by organising daytime parties with breathtaking aerial acrobatics shows.
Bora Bora Beach Club
Initially, this En Bossa beach staple was a simple bar. It has retained certain aspects of this, such as broadcasting sporting events on its giant screens and offering free admission. But over the years, the organisation of parties on the beach or around the pool, and the presence of renowned DJs have turned it into a club in its own right. And if you’re feeling hungry, the Bora Bora beach restaurant is one of the best in Ibiza.
Off the beaten track
Swag
As you can see, for lovers of techno and house, Ibiza is a paradise on Earth. Le Swag breaks away from this cliché by programming urban music. 7 days a week, DJs take it in turns to offer the best hip-hop or R&B sounds of the moment. And to appeal to as many people as possible, Reggaeton nights are regularly organised.
Ibiza itself
While the island boasts some of the world’s best clubs, make no mistake: Ibiza is a show in itself. When night falls, the streets fill up, neon lights illuminate the town’s facades and trees, and the street shows will carry you through the night.
