Bathing beaches
Turkey’s beaches and coves are marvellous. They are a benchmark of maritime beauty in the Mediterranean. The advantage of discovering Turkey by sea is that there are plenty of beaches, some not far from each other. Here are a few beaches where it will be worthwhile taking a dip with your loved ones.
The beach at Ilica en Cesme is very popular. It is very well known in Turkey and is one of the most popular beaches for tourists. Situated in the north of the Aegean Sea, its translucent waters and white sand make it an exceptional sight to behold.
Ovabuku beach is another Turkish beach worth mentioning. The small town of Datça is the perfect check-in point for those seeking peace and quiet. It is set back, particularly discreet and relaxing. Its pine-fringed hills and deep blue sea make for a pleasant sight.
Finally, Iztuzu de Daylan is another beach where you can stop for a swim. Known as the ‘turtle beach’, it is a regular check-in for these small animals. It’s a sublime beach for sea lovers.
Scheduled excursions

Leaving from the town of Bodrum, you can head for the island of Orak. It’s famous for its marine life and crystal-clear water. As well as enjoying the surroundings, you can stop off for a swim. There are also restaurants where you can stop for lunch.
Afterwards, consider heading for Cokertme in the hills of the Kiran Mountains. By this stage, you’re likely to have reached the end of the day. This is the ideal time to have dinner and spend the night on board.
The next day, the idea would be to head for the Seven Islands. This is a collection of coral reefs and coves. They offer an ideal setting for diving. If you’re taking a long break, a walk in the forest is not out of the question.
The following day, you could continue on to Kufre and then sail to Longoz, both an hour apart. Relax and enjoy a swim. In the afternoon, you can continue on to Port Anglais, an ideal spot for photos and a walk. Don’t hesitate to pass by the island of Sedir to finish with the port of Karacasögüt.
Discovering the seabed
As well as lounging on the beach, scuba diving can be a great way to discover the Turkish Sea. The flora and fauna of this region are undeniable. If you want to go scuba diving in Turkey, choose the period between April and November. Visibility and water temperature are optimal.
Turkey is surrounded by three seas. Firstly, the Red Sea contains a breathtaking coral reef. It is a haven for several colonies of fish. As for the Aegean Sea, dolphins are welcome here, alongside sharks and other small sea creatures such as lobsters and dragon-fish. In the Mediterranean Sea, you can admire groupers, conger eels and wrasse, as well as unusual fish such as parrotfish.
